I recently moved myself. Just today, I received a very official looking letter in the mail stating that I need to mail a $89.00 check for a “service charge” to receive a copy to the deed of my new home. IT IS A SCAM. Don’t fall for it. It is basically pulling info from public records and trying to make money off of it. Your title company will take care of you and send docs and the deed directly to you.
Be aware that you will receive junk mail out the Waazoo! For all kinds of things! Life insurance policies, Homeowners insurance, loan options and on and on and on. Just know that your home purchase is public record and people come out of the woodwork to try and take advantage of you. Just an FYI. Have questions? Let me know!
