Grand Opening – PARKS in The Gulch

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 4 PM – 6:30 PM
LOCATION: PARKS IN THE GULCH FREE

PARKS, a division of Bob Parks Realty, will officially open their new urban residential specialist office in The Gulch with an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony. Ribbon cutting at 4:30 pm with a champagne toast to follow. Refreshments and cocktails will be provided. Complimentary valet parking available.

Curator’s Tour: German Expressionism from the Detroit Institute of Arts

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 8, NOON
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS INCLUDED WITH MUSEUM ADMISSION

Join Trinita Kennedy, curator at the Frist Center, for a conversation that interweaves the dramatic history of modern art in Germany with the history of one of the first major collections of German Expressionism in America, established at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown: Big Kid Night

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 5:30 PM; SHOW STARTS AT 6:30 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE CHILDREN’S THEATRE $25

This musical revival is a fresh approach to a classic of the American musical theatre. Linus, Lucy, Sally, Schroeder, Snoopy and Charlie Brown – the most beloved gang of kids in America – will take attendees for a wise and hilarious romp through the world of PEANUTS. This special evening performance of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is for grown-ups only. Admission includes Yazoo beer, hors d’oeuvres, and an entertaining evening with the Peanuts gang. Happy hour begins at 5:30 and the performance starts at 6:30 pm. All guests must be 21 and up.

 

Nashville International Auto Show

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9 – SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11, FRIDAY & SATURDAY: 10 AM – 9 PM; SUNDAY: 10 AM – 5 PM

Taste of Nashville

The Phoenix Club of Nashville presents Taste of Nashville 2012. Nashville 1/2 Marathon

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 7 AM
LOCATION: RIVERFRONT PARK$95 IN ADVANCE; $100 RACE DAY

The run takes participants through the downtown core, The Gulch, SoBro, North Capitol, along the Cumberland River, and through other lively Nashville neighborhoods. Finish the last quarter mile on a triumphant downhill course past the Lower Broadway honkytonks. The finish line block party will reward all runners with music, food, and complimentary Michelob Ultra. PLEASE NOTE: Road closures associated wit this event, see the route map online. Roads are expected to be closed from 4 am – 1 pm on Saturday, November 10.

Veterans’ Day Parade

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2 PM

This parade honoring all U.S. veterans will proceed down Broadway from 14th Avenue to 3rd Avenue. Watch the marching parade in support of our veterans. Viewing stand located at the corner of 9th Avenue and Broadway in front of the Federal Building. PLEASE NOTE: rolling road closures along Broadway from the interstate to 3rd Avenue in conjunction with the parade, from 10 am to 4 pm.

CoLab Open House

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 5 PM – 7 PM
LOCATION: COLAB NASHVILLE FREE

A community event for neighbors, a member showcase and a new member drive all at one open house. CoLab will have live music, entertainment, food provided by Blue Coast Burrito, libations, corn hole and ping pong tournaments, tours and more. Parking will be provided in the Wells Fargo Plaza garage.

Downtown Dental (101 Union Street, 615-254-1393) is offering a free whitening treatment and free custom bleaching trays with a donation of ten non-perishable food items. Make the donation and then schedule your appointment. All food items will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. This offer runs through November 30, 2012.
