I love discovering new things in town. I gotta tell you. My boyfriend has gotten me hooked on flea markets and auction houses. How fun to go see old things that take you back to another period of time. We have went to many flea markets, antique shops and auctions all over Middle Tennessee. It’s a fun way to spend a day and you never know what you are gonna find! If you enjoy projects, or just need something specific for a room in your house, a great place to start is the local auction house.

We recently discovered Music City Auction. It’s right downtown just before Broadway becomes West End, right past the Tennesseean and across the block from 12th and Porter, at 114 George L. Davis Blvd. Nashville, TN 37203

It’s easy to get to, has a HUGE antique mall to browse, but what I really enjoy is the live auctions. Held usually on the 3rd Friday of the month, starts at 6:30pm. Sometimes they also have them other days, you just have to join the newsletter to stay in the loop, http://www.musiccityauction.net/

The auction itself is a big room with about 30 chairs to sit in and watch the action go down. Every time I have been, there has been plenty of seats. They show a glimpse of what is going to be auctioned off each week in the emails too. Everything from furniture, glassware, paintings, pictures, crates, you name it. There is no telling what will be there when you go.  I have bought a mirror, a picture of Teddy Roosevelt, some random glass bowls, and few trinkets that I just liked because, and some crates for my vinyl.

The main appeal to the auction, in my opinion is the furniture. I have seen some REALLY nice pieces go for SUPER cheap! I mean bedroom suites that sold for $75 dollars, Chairs that went for $10 a piece. One day they sold a patio set that looked brand new for like $19 dollars!! Some stuff goes into the $100s, but it is VERY nice pieces! Trust me! If you are looking for furniture, this is the place to go!! Check out the website, join the mail list. Get wild and crazy on a Friday night and hit a Music City Auction!!
